My pottery story...
I had never done pottery until 2016. My daughter was starting her freshman year of high school and was taking pottery. We'd been having a rough year, so I decided to join a pottery studio with her so we could spend some quality time together. We would go late at night, and she would tell me what to do as I made small pots that looked like the work of a kindergartener. As I got better, I started to feel the stress relief of creating with clay and feel the pride of having my daughter teach me what to do. She became a busy teen that didn't have as much time for pottery, but I was hooked and started taking lessons to learn as much as I could. Now on occasion my daughter still does pottery with me and my son has taken classes as well. I have met and continue to meet wonderful artists, some of which I consider my closest friends. I still take classes and workshops to try to learn all I possibly can to make the visions of my creations come to life in the hope that others feel the emotions and pride I have grown to feel and hopefully express in my art.
